Dengan fasilitas web based, maka sumber daya perangkat keras dan perangkat lunak dapat diminimalisir. Kebutuhan hardware yang cukup handal hanya diperlukan disisi server, sedangkan pada isi client cukup menyediakan browser yang mendukung aplikasi web based yang dijalanka di server (java, javascript, css, dll).
